Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Motherboard Replacement
The motherboard is the main control center of the phone, responsible for its core functions.
Step 1 | Battery
Power down your device and verify it is fully shut off.
- Position the phone face-down on a clean, flat work surface.
Step 2
Use a Supdger to remove the back cover from its top left corner notch.
- Remove the battery by using your Supdger on the notch underneath it.
- We were unable to test this step due to a missing battery in our device.
Step 3 | Motherboard
- Remove the SIM Card from its holder by gently sliding it horizontally.
- Take out the stylus from its holder.
Step 4
Remove the rear chassis by unscrewing 15 4mm screws using a Phillips #000 Screwdriver.
- Insert a spudger into the stylus socket.
- Pry the midframe away from the phone, working your way around its edge.
- The midframe should now be entirely separated from the phone.
Step 5
- Disconnect the pink and white wires using the pointed end of a spudger.
- Next, disconnect the fingerprint scanner cable located above the pink and white wires with the pointed end of your spudger.
Step 6
Use the Spudger's pointed end to carefully pry off the connectors for the:
- Front Facing Camera
- AMOLED Display Screen
- AMOLED Capacitive Screen
Step 7
Insert the pointed end of a spudger at the top end, underneath the motherboard.
Lift the motherboard up gently.
- Disconnect the cable connecting the daughter board, which is attached to the underside of the motherboard.
- Remove the motherboard from the device.
