Samsung Galaxy Note5 Volume Button Replacement

Be careful not to damage the back glass.

  • Remove the screen bezel using a pry tool.
  • Disconnect the connectors for the middle housing.
  • Separate the middle housing from the phone body.
  • Remove the necessary parts to access the volume button, such as the volume button bracket.
  • Once you've removed the required components, you can remove the volume button itself.

Step 1 | SIM Card Tray

Insert the SIM Ejector Tool into the small hole on the left side of the top edge.

  • Press down gently until the SIM Card Tray starts to protrude out.

Remove the SIM Card Tray from its slot.

Apply heat gun to the back of the device for 2 minutes.

Careful handling is required as the heated surface may cause burns.

  • Place a suction cup near the bottom of the back, ensuring it sits on the flat part of the glass.
  • Gently pull upwards on the suction cup to separate the rear glass from the phone body.
  • While pulling, insert a pick under the rear glass to aid separation.

Keep the pick positioned under the rear glass as you guide it along the device's bottom edge.

  • Apply gentle pressure to separate the adhesive.

Careful not to apply too much force, which can damage the device.

Proceed with the heating and cutting process for the remaining three sides.

  • Place a pick on each side, leaving it in place before moving to the next.

Be careful not to damage the rear glass.

  • Gently lift up the rear glass to remove it.

Remove the S-Pen from its dock at the bottom of the device.

Remove twenty 5mm screws using a Phillips #1 Screwdriver.

Hold the device firmly with one hand, then use your other hand to press the middle housing release located at the back.

Hold the power button flex adhesive with tweezers.

  • Pry up the power button flex using the tweezers.
  • Remove the power button flex once loose.

Step 12

Use tweezers to gently push the power button.

Step 13 | Volume Button

Remove the volume button flex by first loosening its adhesive with a tool.

  • Pry gently to avoid damaging the flex cable.
  • Once loose, carefully remove the volume button flex.

Step 14

Remove the volume button by pushing it outward.

  • Continue to push until the button is free from its housing.
  • Once released, carefully lift the volume button out of the device.
