Apply packing tape to cover a cracked glass back.

  • Use an iOpener on the bottom of the phone for 2 minutes, reheating as needed.
  • Note: Follow iOpener instructions to prevent overheating.

Be cautious not to overheat with a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.

Protect the OLED display and internal battery from excessive heat damage.

Be careful not to apply excessive force, as the rear glass is fragile.

  • Apply a suction cup near the bottom edge of the phone.
  • If the back cover is cracked, use strong tape or superglue to secure the suction cup for better grip.
  • Lift the phone using the suction cup and carefully insert an opening pick under the rear glass.

Avoid using metal tools or excessive force, as this can cause the rear glass to break.

Ensure your phone is functional before sealing.

  • Remove remaining adhesive from both the back cover and the phone's chassis using tweezers.
  • Clean adhesion areas with high concentration isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%) and a lint-free cloth, swiping in one direction only.

Use new adhesive to ensure waterproof sealing or use Tesa 61395 double-sided tape as an alternative, but be aware of potential liquid intrusion risks.

  • Apply replacement adhesive, which comes pre-cut for the exact back cover contours.
  • For installation, apply strong pressure under a stack of heavy books for several minutes to form a good bond.

If reusing old adhesive, remove large chunks and apply heat with pressure to secure the back cover.
