• Use a fingernail or plastic opening tool to insert into the divot next to the rear-facing camera.
• Pry and twist the flexible rear cover gently off the back of the phone.

Use a fingernail or plastic opening tool to pry open the battery from its recess at the bottom right.

• Lift the battery upward and out of its slot.

Push the SIM card gently out of its housing.

• Pull the card further to remove it completely.

Remove the 16 x 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

• Grasp the cap of the S Pen.
• Remove it from its slot in the midframe.

Insert a plastic opening tool between the midframe and the display assembly.

• Work the plastic opening tool around the perimeter of the phone to break the adhesive.
• This adhesive is relatively weak; a heat gun is not required.

Be careful not to separate the front glass panel from the rest of the display assembly, as it remains held together with adhesive.

Loosen the clasps on the battery housing with a plastic opening tool.

Apply moderate pressure to the battery housing and gently push to separate the midframe from the display assembly.

• If your new midframe lacks a headphone jack assembly, carefully remove the old one using a plastic opening tool.
• Pry out the several plastic pins holding the headphone jack assembly in place.

Use a tweezers to dislodge the volume buttons from their attachment points on the midframe.
