Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Midframe Replacement

This repair guide is for replacing the midframe of a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Step 1 | Rear Case

Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the divot to the left of the rear-facing camera.

  • Pry gently and twist the flexible rear cover off the back of the phone.

Step 2 | Battery

Locate the recess in the bottom right corner of the battery.

  • Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the recess and lift upward.
  • The battery should now be loose; remove it completely.

Step 3 | SIM Card

  • Push the SIM card slightly out of its housing.
  • Pull the SIM card the rest of the way to remove it.

Step 4 | Midframe

Remove 16 x 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe.

  • Remove the S Pen from its slot in the midframe, grasping the cap.

Careful not to separate the front glass panel.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool between midframe and display assembly.
  • Work tool around perimeter of phone to break adhesive.
  • Weak adhesive, no heat gun required.

Loosen the clasps around the battery housing using a plastic opening tool.

Push firmly on the battery housing to separate the midframe from the display assembly.

Apply sufficient pressure to ensure a clean separation.

  • If your new midframe lacks a headphone jack assembly, transfer it from the old midframe.
  • To do this, use plastic opening tools to carefully pry loose the headphone jack, held in place by several plastic pins.
