Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Antenna Replacement

If your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 won't connect to cellular or Wi-Fi networks, you might need to replace the antenna.

  • Follow this guide for steps on replacing the antenna in your device.

Step 1 | Midframe

  • Remove the 16 4.0mm Phillips #00 screws holding the midframe to the display assembly.
  • Grasp the cap of the S Pen and pull it out from its slot in the midframe.

Insert a plastic opening tool between midframe and display assembly.

  • Work the plastic opening tool around phone's perimeter to break adhesive.
  • This adhesive is weak, no heat gun needed for removal.
  • Be careful not to separate front glass panel from rest of display assembly.

Use a plastic opening tool to release the clasps around the battery housing.

Apply reasonable pressure to separate the midframe from the display assembly.

  • Push on the battery housing to release the connection between the two parts.
  • Remove and transfer the headphone jack assembly if not included with your new midframe, using plastic opening tools to pry it loose.

Step 5 | Detaching Antenna Connectors

Use tweezers to gently pull the connectors away from the phone.

  • Identify the blue dot on the shorter connector, which should be positioned near the phone's bottom edge.
  • Pull upwards on both connectors with tweezers until they detach completely.
