Samsung Galaxy Nexus Main Display Glass Replacement

This repair guide is for replacing the display on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Although the phone shown in these instructions may differ slightly from yours, this guide should still apply to most models.

Step 1 | Removing Back Cover

Open the back cover using your fingers or a plastic opening tool.

  • Pry the battery from its divot at the bottom.
  • Set aside the back cover and battery in a safe location, such as a bowl.

  • Remove the 4.5 mm Phillips screws from the rear of the device.
  • There are four screws to remove in total.

Excessive force can easily damage the case, so work carefully.

  • Flip the phone over with the screen facing upward.
  • Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the screen and outer case.
  • Work the tool around the phone without removing it from the seam.
  • Pry the outer case slowly away from the screen.

  • Remove one 4 mm Phillips #00 screw from the phone's underside.
  • Lift up the flat connector from its socket on the motherboard.
  • Take out the entire headphone jack assembly.

Disconnect the two ribbon cables from the motherboard.

Use tweezers or a spudger to carefully lift the vibrator motor from its recess.

Use tweezers to carefully release the antenna cable from its socket on the motherboard.

Careful handling is crucial to avoid damaging components.

  • Use a pair of tweezers to gently pull the motherboard out of the phone.
  • Be aware that some models may still have ribbon cables attached to the motherboard's underside, connecting it to the display assembly.

Locate the USB port, then use a pair of tweezers to carefully extract the small daughterboard.
