Samsung Galaxy Nexus Ear Piece Replacement

  • Follow this guide to replace the earpiece, a crucial component for audio output.

Step 1 | Back of Phone

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingertip to carefully pry open the back of the phone.

  • Insert the tool into the small divot.
  • Gently pry the back cover off.

Step 2 | Removal of Back Cover

Move the prying tool or your fingernail away from the phone, keeping it out of the divot.

  • Continue moving the tool/fingernail until the back cover comes loose.

Step 3 | Removal of Battery

Insert finger into battery divot and gently pull towards you.

  • Proceed with inserting a replacement battery at this time.

Step 4 | Motherboard

Remove PH # 000 screw located as shown in the picture, using a suitable driver to avoid damage.

  • Each screw requires a tightening torque of 2.5 Nm.
  • Do not strip the screws' heads during removal.

Remove all screws.

  • Turn phone right side up.
  • Plastic opening tool between screen & outer case, moving around without removing from position.
  • Pop screen out of shell, being cautious not to damage control board or screen.

Step 6 | Removing Control Board

Remove the screw with a PH #000 screwdriver.

Ensure correct driver size to avoid damage.

Use a flat head screwdriver to gently lift the blue connector.

Use your finger or a prying tool to carefully pull back the bottom module.

Use tweezers or a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the internal battery loose.

Be careful of adhesive on the chassis – it may be holding the battery in place.

Use tweezers to peel the display connector strip from the main circuit board.

  • Remove the display connector strip carefully.
  • Repeat the process for the USB connector strip.

Use your fingers or tweezers to carefully remove the antenna.

  • Use tweezers to carefully remove the top circuit board.
  • Be cautious not to damage ribbon cable connectors on the underside of the board, which may be model-specific and attached to sockets.

Step 13 | Back Cover

Use tweezers to carefully pull out the top earpiece.
