Samsung Galaxy Mega Motherboard Replacement

Replacing the motherboard requires following these steps.

Step 1 | Battery

Ensure the device is completely turned off.

  • plastic opening tool or your fingernail and pull up on the back plate.

Locate the battery at the bottom of the device.

  • Pry the battery out using your fingertips or a plastic tool.

Be careful not to touch any metal parts — risk of electric shock.

Step 3 | Midframe

Remove the 14 3.45 mm Phillips #000 screws from the assembly.

  • Gently insert a plastic opening tool into the seam above the volume buttons.
  • Alternatively, you may use a metal spudger, but be aware that it could cause exterior cosmetic damage.

Step 4

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry open the device.

  • Slide the tool around the device to release all internal connectors.
  • The device should come apart easily once the entire perimeter is cleared.
  • During reassembly, ensure that the volume and power buttons are properly aligned.

Step 5 | Motherboard

Remove the 2.55 mm Phillips #000 screw from the motherboard panel.

Disconnect the connector clips from the motherboard.

Disconnect the motherboard connectors.

Use your finger to lift the motherboard carefully.

  • There are six connectors on the motherboard that need removal – ensure they are disconnected according to the guide's pictures.
