Samsung Galaxy Mega Earpiece Speaker/LED Indicator Replacement

  • Front Facing Speaker and LED Blinker Replacement

Step 1 | Battery

Ensure the device is completely turned off before proceeding.

  • Locate the slot in the top left corner of the back of the phone.
  • Insert a plastic opening tool or your fingernail into the slot and pull up to release the back plate.
  • Slide your finger around the device between the back plate and the phone to release the connectors.

Insert fingernail into battery slot on bottom and gently pull up.

  • Continue to remove the battery.

Step 3 | Midframe

Be aware that using a metal spudger may result in cosmetic damage.

  • Remove the 14 3.45 mm Phillips #000 screws from the assembly.
  • Gently insert a plastic opening tool into the seam above the volume buttons, or use a metal spudger to initiate the process.

Slide a plastic opening tool slowly around the device to release internal connectors.

  • The device should easily come apart once the tool has been slid around its perimeter.
  • During reassembly, ensure that volume and power buttons align correctly.

Step 5 | Earpiece Speaker/LED Indicator

Remove black 2.55 mm Phillips #000 screw.

Use a plastic opening tool to remove the metal cover.

Disconnect the motherboard clip from the speaker assembly.

  • Gently lift the speaker and LED assembly out of the device.
  • If the speaker assembly is stuck due to glue, carefully pry it loose using a gentle prying motion.
