Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 LCD/Digitizer Replacement

To replace the LCM (LCD + Digitizer) assembly, you'll need to remove the screen by taking out a few screws first.

Step 1 | LCD/Digitizer

Turn off the phone before proceeding.

  • Locate the charging port at the bottom of the phone and find the slot beside it.
  • Insert a plastic opening tool or use your fingernail to gently pry up the back cover, starting from one corner.
  • Slide your finger around the edge until the back cover releases.

  • Identify the battery.
  • Caution: Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the slot on the bottom and gently lift up.
  • Remove the battery.

Remove the Digitizer cover using a pry tool.

  • Use a Phillips head screwdriver PH000 and remove all 13 screws, 1.4 mm in length.
  • Pop the Digitizer cover off using a pry tool.
  • Disconnect the Digitizer connector using a pry tool.

Insert a pry tool along the side of the device.

  • Work your way around the borders of the screen, separating it from the rear assembly frame.
  • Leave the screen at an angle and do not lift it completely off yet.

Use a heat gun to heat up the bottom and loosen the adhesive from the menu and back buttons.

  • Gently pull the screen upward once heated.
  • Ensure the buttons are separating from the adhesive.

  • Flip the screen over.
  • Identify the LCD/Digitizer.
  • Disconnect the LCD/Digitizer using a pair of tweezers.
