Samsung Galaxy M51 Back Cover Replacement
This repair requires a new adhesive for reassembly.
- Use this guide to remove or replace the back cover.
Step 1 | Heat an iOpener
Power off your device completely before proceeding.
- Apply an iOpener to the back cover for at least two minutes or use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution:
- Heat gun, hair dryer, or hot plate
- Be careful not to overheat the phone as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.
Step 2 | Create an opening gap
- Attach a suction handle to the back cover near the USB-C port.
- Lift the back cover's lower edge with the suction handle, creating a small gap between the cover and frame.
- Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
- Slide the opening pick to the bottom left corner and secure it in place.
Step 3 | Slice through the adhesive
Insert another opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Slide it diagonally to the bottom right corner, cutting through the adhesive.
- Leave both opening picks in place to prevent resealing.
Step 4
Insert a third opening pick under the bottom right corner of the back cover.
Be cautious not to apply too much heat, which can damage components.
- Apply additional heat if needed, following the iOpener instructions.
- Slide the pick along the right edge of the phone to the top right corner.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent adhesive resealing.
Step 5
Insert the fourth opening pick under the top right corner.
- Slide the pick along the top edge to the left corner to break the adhesive.
- Leave the opening pick in place to prevent re-adhesion.
Step 6
Insert a fifth opening pick in the top left corner.
- Slide the pick along the edge to cut the remaining adhesive.
Step 7 | Remove the back cover
Remove the back cover.
