Samsung Galaxy Luna Motherboard Replacement

This repair guide provides instructions for replacing the motherboard.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the divot to the left of the camera.

  • The rear case should come loose.

Grasp the corner of the case closest to the damage and gently pull it away.

  • The case should separate easily, freeing the damaged area.

Insert the prying tool or use your fingernail under the battery to carefully pry it loose from its compartment.

Push the SIM card further into its container using your finger or a plastic opening tool until a click is heard.

  • Grab the SIM card and slide it out of the container.
  • Remove the SIM card completely from the device.

Make sure not to damage the SIM card or its slot during removal and insertion.

During reassembly, slide the new SIM card into the slot until a click is heard.

Step 5 | Motherboard

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingernail to pry off the rear case by prying the divot to the left of the camera.

  • Lift the rear case by the corner nearest the divot and remove it from the phone.
  • Use caution when handling internal components.

    Remove the digitizer connector cover using an opening tool.
  • Detach the digitizer connector with a tweezer or a plastic spudger.

Apply a small suction cup to the centre of the screen, pressing firmly in place.

  • Hold the phone's back panel with one hand.
  • Pull on the suction cup gently until the screen starts to bend.

  • Insert the small metal spudger into the phone's opening.
  • Pry off the screen, taking care not to tear any exposed circuits.
  • Make sure the screen is completely detached from the motherboard before removing it.

Remove the nine 3 mm screws using a Philips PH000 screwdriver.

Avoid damaging the motherboard and its circuitry.

  • Gently pry the button frame off using a metal spudger.
  • Repeat the process for the motherboard.

Step 10

Remove the black screw using a Philips PH000 screwdriver.

Avoid scratching the motherboard circuitry.

  • Pry open the motherboard cover using a metal spudger.
