Samsung Galaxy Light Motherboard Replacement

  • Remove the SIM tray and battery.
  • Screw out the midframe fasteners.
  • Lift up the midframe to access the motherboard.
  • Disconnect all connectors from the old motherboard.
  • Install the new motherboard, reconnecting all connectors securely.
  • Screw in the midframe fasteners and replace the battery.
  • Reinsert the SIM tray and your device is ready for testing.

Step 1 | Remove Back Cover

Make sure the Samsung Galaxy Light is turned off.

  • Pry up the back cover using a plastic opening tool or your fingernails.
  • Remove the back cover completely.

Step 2 | Remove Battery

Disconnect the battery from its socket.

Step 3 | Unscrew Midframe

Remove midframe screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver. There are 9 screws total.

  • Remove each screw individually from the midframe.

Step 4 | Remove Midframe

Use a plastic opening tool to separate the midframe from the front panel.

  • Continue until the midframe is completely separated.
  • Remove the midframe.

Step 5 | Detach Motherboard

Detach the motherboard using a plastic opening tool.

  • Pry up the digitizer connector from the motherboard.
  • Lift the motherboard and move it toward the left side of the device.
  • Pry up the display connector on the back of the motherboard.
