Samsung Galaxy J7 v Volume Button Replacement

The OLED display is extremely delicate and prone to damage.

  • Position a Jimmy tool under one corner of the OLED display.
  • Gently lift the OLED display using the Jimmy tool.

Slide the Jimmy tool gently around the entire perimeter of the phone.

The display's ribbon cables are fragile — handle them carefully.

  • Lift the display gently to avoid damaging the cables or surrounding components.

Step 4 | Home button

  • Locate the home button socket.
  • Fit a metal spudger between the socket and the home button.

Insert the metal spudger under the home button and lift upwards.

  • The home button should now be free from its socket.

Remove the screws located around the home button and above.

Remove all screws that are touching each other.

Release the panel by pushing it away from its plastic holder.

Insert the pointed end of the spudger into the button hold and press downwards.

Continue pressing the volume button down to release it.
