Samsung Galaxy J7 V Power Button Replacement
Failure to shut down the device before repair may result in damage or data loss.
- Power off and disconnect from any external power source.
- Understand that a faulty power button can prevent display activation.
- Replacing the power button will restore your phone's functionality.
Step 1 | Screen
The OLED display is extremely fragile, risk of damage if mishandled.
- Insert a Jimmy tool under a corner of the OLED display.
- Gently lift the display using the Jimmy tool.
Step 2
Slide Jimmy tool around entire phone perimeter.
Step 3
The display's ribbon cables are fragile, handle with care.
- Lift the display carefully to avoid damaging the ribbon cables.
- Remove the display once the ribbon cables have been safely routed.
Step 4 | Home button
- Find the home button socket.
- Insert a metal spudger into the gap between the socket and the home button.
Step 5
- Insert the metal spudger under the home button.
- Lift up to dislodge the home button from its socket.
Step 6 | Volume Button
Remove the screws located around the home button and those situated above.
Step 7
Remove the screen from the panel.
- Pull the screen away gently, working from the center outward.
Step 8
Remove all screws located next to each other.
Step 9
Remove the plastic hold by popping off the panel.
Step 10
Push down the button hold using the pointed end of a spudger.
The volume button can now be removed by pushing it downwards.
Step 11 | Power Button
Use the metal spudger tool to lift the metal bar.
Step 12
Use a metal spudger to press the power button and release it.
