Samsung Galaxy J7 V Motherboard Replacement

To repair your Samsung Galaxy J7 V's motherboard, follow these steps: replace it with a new one. First, access the internal components by disassembling the device.

  • Remove the screen assembly for clearance.
  • Take out the screws securing the front panel.
  • Disconnect the home button connector.
  • Release the battery pack, disconnect it from the motherboard, and remove it.

Handle the OLED display with care as it's prone to damage.

  • Insert a Jimmy tool under one corner of the OLED display.
  • Gently lift the display using the Jimmy tool.

Slide the Jimmy tool gently around the phone's edge.

Handle the display's ribbon cables with care due to their fragility.

  • Lift the display assembly carefully to dislodge it from the device.

Step 4 | Home button

Insert a metal spudger into the gap between the home button and its surrounding socket.

  • The tip of the spudger should fit snugly into this narrow space.
  • Gently pry up on the home button using the metal spudger.

  • Insert the metal spudger under the home button.
  • Lift upwards to release the home button from its socket.

Step 6 | Remove the backing

Position the phone so that the back is facing down.

  • Lift the backing off from the right-hand side using the indent provided.

Step 7 | Remove the battery

Lift the bottom edge of the battery to avoid damage or injury.

  • Remove the battery completely.

Remove all 14 screws from the midframe with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Flip the phone over.

  • Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the phone, which is now exposed.
  • Aplly gentle pressure along the edges using your fingers until the midframe releases.

Flip the phone over.

  • Remove the Phillips #00 screw from the motherboard.
  • Place a few iFixit opening picks beneath the motherboard.
  • Spread the opening picks evenly around the motherboard to prevent bending.
  • Lift the motherboard using the iFixit opening picks.
