Samsung Galaxy J7 V Earpiece Speaker Replacement

If you encounter issues with screw removal, try flipping the phone upside down and using a screwdriver to loosen them first.

  • Use the screwdriver to loosen the 14 screws by flipping the phone over.
  • Once loose, use a magnet tool to fully remove the screws.

Step 1 | Screen

Handle the OLED display with care — it can be prone to damage.

  • Position a Jimmy tool at a corner of the display.
  • Gently lift the display using the Jimmy tool.

Slide the Jimmy tool around the entire perimeter of the phone, applying gentle pressure.

Handle the ribbon cables carefully as they are prone to damage.

  • Lift the display upwards, taking care not to touch the ribbon cables underneath.
  • Remove the display once it is lifted clear of its connectors.

Step 4 | Home button

Locate the home button socket.

  • Fit the metal spudger into position, between the socket and the home button.

Insert the metal spudger under the home button.

Lift upwards to remove the home button from its socket.

Step 6 | Motherboard

Remove 14 Phillips #00 screws from the midframe.

Flip the phone to the back side.

  • Press firmly on both sides of the midframe using your thumbs to release it.

Flip the phone back over.

  • Remove the single black screw from the motherboard with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
  • Place a few iFixit opening picks beneath the motherboard.
  • Bend risk prevention: Spread the opening picks evenly around the motherboard.

  • Lift the motherboard using the iFixit opening picks.

Step 9 | Earpiece Speaker

Remove the tweezers from their storage container.

  • Insert the pointed end of the tweezers into the gap at the rear of the earpiece speaker.
  • Gently pry the back cover away from the speaker's frame, taking care not to damage any surrounding components.
