Samsung Galaxy J3V Back Camera Replacement
This repair guide is for replacing a non-functional rear camera on the Samsung Galaxy J3V smartphone.
Step 1 | Front Camera
Lift the back cover off by prying it open at the top left corner.
Step 2
Use a Phillips #J000 screwdriver to remove all ten 2.0 mm screws.
Step 3
Use a small suction cup to pull the screen up.
- Slip a small plastic opening tool under the screen and use it to pry upwards.
Be aware that if this is the first time removing the screen, there may be adhesive around the edges requiring some force and multiple attempts to fully remove the screen.
Step 4
- Use tweezers to flip the tab on the front camera.
Step 5 | Motherboard
Remove the connector tab using a spudger.
- Carefully grasp and lift out the headphone jack using tweezers.
Step 6
Use a spudger to remove the connectors from the motherboard.
- Apply gentle pressure to pry each connector loose.
- Remove all connectors before proceeding with further repairs.
Step 7
Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry the motherboard from its plastic tabs.
Step 8 | Back Camera
Locate the rear camera connector's retaining tab on the motherboard.
- Flip up the tab using a tweezer.
- Use the tweezer to carefully remove the rear camera connector and its associated components.
