Samsung Galaxy J3V Back Camera Replacement

This repair guide is for replacing a non-functional rear camera on the Samsung Galaxy J3V smartphone.

Step 1 | Front Camera

Lift the back cover off by prying it open at the top left corner.

Use a Phillips #J000 screwdriver to remove all ten 2.0 mm screws.

Use a small suction cup to pull the screen up.

  • Slip a small plastic opening tool under the screen and use it to pry upwards.
  • Be aware that if this is the first time removing the screen, there may be adhesive around the edges requiring some force and multiple attempts to fully remove the screen.

  • Use tweezers to flip the tab on the front camera.

Step 5 | Motherboard

Remove the connector tab using a spudger.

  • Carefully grasp and lift out the headphone jack using tweezers.

Use a spudger to remove the connectors from the motherboard.

  • Apply gentle pressure to pry each connector loose.
  • Remove all connectors before proceeding with further repairs.

Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry the motherboard from its plastic tabs.

Step 8 | Back Camera

Locate the rear camera connector's retaining tab on the motherboard.

  • Flip up the tab using a tweezer.
  • Use the tweezer to carefully remove the rear camera connector and its associated components.
