Samsung Galaxy J3 Mission Motherboard Replacement

The motherboard is a critical component of your Samsung Galaxy J3 Mission phone and can be easily damaged.

  • The motherboard supports several components, including the camera module, SD card reader, SIM card reader, and charging port.
  • The motherboard enables communication between the CPU, RAM, and other computer hardware elements.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Insert fingertip into the back cover removal slot.

  • Pull back gently until the cover pops off.

Step 2 | Battery

Ensure device power-off by disconnecting AC adapter.

  • Pry out battery with a fingertip in the battery slot.
  • Pull back gently until the battery releases.

Step 3 | SD and SIM Cards

Slide the SD and SIM cards out of the device using your fingertip.

Step 4 | Screen

Use an iFixit opening tool to pry the screen loose from one side of the phone.

  • Lift the screen until it is loose enough for safe removal.

Be careful around the home button — tabs can break if adhesive isn't loosened first.

Remove the small plastic brace holding the damaged screen in place with an iFixit opening tool.

Step 5 | Midframe

Remove the metal panel by unscrewing its eleven 5mm Phillips #000 screws.

Step 6

Flip the device over with the metal plate facing up.

  • Push down firmly on the plate to release it from the back panel.

Step 7 | Motherboard

Handle the motherboard carefully, as it is fragile.

  • Lift the motherboard upwards with your finger, beginning from the bottom.
