Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge Speaker Replacement

Distorted sound during calls or music playback indicates a faulty speaker that requires replacement.

  • Replace the speaker in your Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge Model SM-J327P.

Step 1 | Screen

Apply heat to the screen edges using a hair dryer.

  • Insert the iFixit Opening Tool between the screen and body, starting at an edge.
  • Work the tool around the entire screen to break the adhesive.

Careful not to damage the screen.

  • Lift the screen up from the bottom.
  • Pry the gray cover open using a tool.

Remove the connector from the motherboard with a clean nail or an iFixit opening tool.

Step 4 | Motherboard

Remove the eleven Phillips #00 3.5mm screws.

  • If a screw becomes stuck, apply tape to the head and remove it.
  • The tape should come off with the screw, freeing it from the device.

Flip the phone over and press firmly on the area where the battery resides.

A loud clicking sound is expected upon applying sufficient pressure.

Insert the iFixit Opening Pick between the motherboard and the panel.

  • Work the iFixit Opening Pick around the outside edge of the motherboard.

Be careful not to damage the motherboard or surrounding components.

  • Pry the motherboard gently away from the phone using your fingers.

Step 8 | Speaker

  • Use a iFixit Opening Pick to carefully pry the speaker loose from the back.
  • Either manually grasp and remove the speaker, or use tweezers for more precision.
