Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge Motherboard Replacement

The Motherboard is at the heart of your Galaxy J3 Emerge's hardware, attaching all essential components.

  • This part should only be replaced when your phone ceases to function entirely.
  • Keep in mind that several important parts, such as the camera and speakers, are located beneath it.

Step 1 | Screen

Use a hair dryer to heat up the edges of the screen.

  • Insert the iFixit Opening Tool between the screen and body to loosen the edge.
  • Work the tool around the entire screen to break the adhesive bond.

Careful not to drop the screen, as it may crack.

  • Lift the screen upwards from the bottom edge.
  • Pry open the gray cover with a suitable tool.

Use a iFixit opening tool or a clean nail to pry the connector off the motherboard.

Step 4 | Motherboard

Remove the eleven Phillips #00 3.5mm screws.

  • If a screw is stuck, apply tape with its adhesive side facing the screw.
  • Pull the tape off to dislodge the screw.

Flip the phone over and press down firmly on the spot where the battery was located.

A loud clicking sound indicates successful release of the part.

Insert the iFixit Opening Pick between the motherboard and the panel.

  • Work the iFixit Opening Pick around the outside of the motherboard.

Use care when prying to avoid damaging components.

  • Pry the motherboard away from the phone.
