This guide destroys the original screen.
Do not use this procedure to repair internal components or replace other parts.
Insert the fingernail or flat end of a spudger into the divot to the left of the rear-facing camera.
Remove the rear cover.
Do not push the spudger too hard to avoid puncturing the battery pack.
Locate the display connector cover on the left edge, above the battery recess.
Insert the flat end of a spudger under the display connector.
Flip the phone over.
Insert an opening pick into the right edge seam, pressing firmly until it reaches the gap between the frame and the display glass.
Position the pick's tip at the seam and gently move it along the right edge.
Continue to cut the adhesive with the opening pick, focusing on the bottom right corner and the area where the bottom bezel meets.
If necessary, apply a heated iOpener to the bottom edge for 1 minute before retrying.
Repeat the heating and slicing procedure for the left edge.
Careful not to cut the digitizer cable — if sliced, pull the pick out slightly and try again.
Loosen the top panel to access the AMOLED display.
The Home button may fall out during removal, so set it aside in a safe location for re-assembly.
Beware of strong adhesive and display flex cables when prying.
Insert the point of an opening pick under the bottom left corner of the AMOLED panel.
Insert a plastic opening card under the AMOLED panel using the gap created by the opening pick.
Continue pushing the plastic card at the top of the phone, gently wiggling as needed.
Apply a heated iOpener to loosen stubborn adhesive.
Slowly lift AMOLED panel and digitizer up from the frame together.
Remove old adhesive residue from frame using high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol.
Do not forget to replace the Home button during reinstallation.
Re-adhere replacement screen while keeping it connected to phone for proper alignment.
Peel all adhesive plastic liners on new screen before re-adhering.
