Samsung Galaxy J1 Glass Screen Replacement

Step 1 | Midframe

Insert the plastic spudger between the back cover and the device.

Pry the rear cover gently off the back of the phone.

Locate the SIM card slot.

  • Pull the SIM card down using your finger.
  • The SIM card will be exposed; remove it completely.

Verify that you have removed the correct part to avoid damaging internal components.

Check that the device is free of any additional obstructions, such as a battery (not pictured).

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the eleven 3 mm screws.

Prying can damage glass screens and internal clips — be careful.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and back of the device.
  • Gently slide the tool along the edges, starting at the bottom of the device.
  • Pry the main assembly from the midframe; avoid cracking glass or breaking internal clips.

Step 5 | Glass Screen

Disconnect the digitizer cable connector using the flat end of a spudger.

Insert a plastic opening tool between the silver digitizer and .

  • Pry gently to loosen the adhesive.
  • Slowly slide the tool around the screen to release the attachment.
  • Be cautious not to damage the digitizer cable while routing it through the housing.

Careful separation of components may damage electrical connections.

  • Separate the display assembly from the plastic housing.
