Samsung Galaxy J1 Front-Facing Camera Replacement

Step 1 | Midframe

  • Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the gap between the back cover and device.
  • Pry the rear cover gently away from the back of the phone.

Locate the SIM card slot

  • Pull the SIM card down using your finger.
  • The SIM card should now be removed from its slot.

The device shown in the image is missing a SIM card and battery.

Remove the eleven 3 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and the back of the device.

  • Starting at the bottom, slide the tool along the edges of the screen.
  • Pry the main assembly from the midframe while being careful not to crack the glass screen or break any clips.

Avoid applying excessive force to prevent damage.

Step 5 | Front-Facing Camera

Disconnect the front-facing camera cable connector with the flat end of a spudger.

Remove the front-facing camera with tweezers or your fingers.
