Use a prying tool to carefully lift the plastic case covering the logic board.

  • Lift the bezel away from the midframe, taking care not to damage any adhesive holding it in place.
  • If necessary, heat around the edges of the bezel to soften the adhesive for easier removal.

Do not pry on the midframe at the top edge near the screen — risk of damaging the LCD.

Place your prying tool between the screen and case, then lift the plastic case towards the back of the phone, being cautious around the buttons.

Failure to keep prying tool from going too deep under bezel may scratch LCD.

  • Use a heat gun 3-5 inches above device to heat section for entry with prying tool.
  • Slide prying tool under glass, keeping it shallow to avoid scratching LCD.
  • Pry all the way around screen, reheating if resistance is encountered.

Be cautious when prying near back button and menu buttons, as they may stick to glass.

  • Set aside home button once glass is pried up.
  • Release clip holding digitizer cable and pull cable through phone housing.

Remove all adhesive and replace with new adhesive in its place.

  • Route new digitizer cable through phone housing, matching lines on cable to motherboard.
  • Insert home button and test for good click before securing glass.

Test device before reassembly by checking screen and functionality.

  • Reassemble in reverse order once device tests successful.
  • Secure logic board screw, front facing camera, and flex cables before testing device.
