Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Headphone Jack and Loudspeaker Replacement

Test headphones or auxiliary cords with an unaffected device before proceeding, as a faulty cord may be causing issues.

  • Loudspeaker unit replacement requires power off and disconnection from external power source.
  • Clean the port for debris to ensure optimal sound quality.
  • Verify that multiple headphones and cords are affected, confirming a defective port.

Step 1 | Removing back cover

Insert a opening tool or fingernail into the tab beside the power button.

  • Lift on the tab to release the back cover from the phone.
  • Continue prying around the edges until the entire cover is removed.

Step 2 | Remove The Battery

Press and release the thumb tab to access the battery.

  • Lift up the thumb tab on the bottom right corner of the battery bay.
  • The battery will now be exposed for removal.

Step 3 | Remove The SD And LCD Ribbon Cable

Locate the SD card and SIM card above the battery bay.

  • Slide the cards out of their slots.
  • Insert an opening tool to lift up the plastic plate covering the LCD ribbon cable.
  • Remove the plastic plate.

Step 4 | Removing screws

  • Remove the nine screws from the back using a PH000 Phillips screwdriver.
  • Store the screws securely, either on a magnetic mat or in a safe place.

Step 5 | Seperating Bezel and Screen

Apply heat quickly, as the adhesive cools rapidly.

  • Heat the screen edges lightly with a heat gun or similar device.
  • Pry between the screen and plastic bezel using an opening tool, applying gentle pressure to separate.
  • Alternatively, push the screen out of its slot over the empty battery compartment to release.

Step 6

Disconnect the ribbon cable from the loudspeaker unit using a plastic spudger.

  • Lift from the top of the loudspeaker unit to release it.

No need to remove the motherboard for this step.
