Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Earpiece Speaker Replacement
The phone requires a new speaker due to faulty functionality.
Step 1 | Battery
- Use a blue plastic opening tool to lift the back cover tab.
- Work your way around the edge to fully detach and remove the back cover.
Step 2 | Remove the battery.
Locate the thumb tab on the old battery.
- Lift up on the thumb tab to remove the old battery.
- Clean the brass terminals periodically.
- Apply a minute amount of ISO to a Q-tip.
- Gingerly clean the connections at the battery and phone.
Step 3 | Midframe
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all nine 4mm screws holding the midframe in place.
Step 4
- Insert a blue plastic opening tool into the gap between the front and side panel.
- Pivot the blue plastic opening tool to separate the front from the side panel along their edges.
Step 5
Detach the mid-frame completely, including the parts inside.
Step 6 | Earpiece Speaker
Unhook the ribbon cable clip with the plastic opening tool.
Step 7
Use tweezers to carefully remove the speaker by gently pulling on its connector.
