Samsung Galaxy Fame S6812i Motherboard Replacement

Step 1 | Remove Battery Cover

Use your fingernails or a spudger to pry apart the cover at the top edge of the device.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery

Identify the indentation at the lower left side of the battery housing.

  • Employ either your fingertips or a plastic opening tool to pry the battery loose.

Step 3 | Remove the Mid-Frame

Remove the top and bottom 3mm screws using a Philips #00 screwdriver.

  • One of these screws is hidden under reflective foil; be careful not to damage it.
  • The warranty will be void if the foil is broken.

Breaking the reflective foil can void your warranty.

  • Use a plastic removal tool to pry the mid-frame from the device.
  • This may require some effort; work slowly around the edges to avoid damaging other components.

Step 4 | Unplug LCD Screen from Motherboard

Locate the two ribbon cable connections on the motherboard.

  • Gently use the pointed end of a spudger to disconnect the cables.
  • Lift the motherboard out of the phone.

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingers to carefully lift the motherboard assembly.

Step 6 | Chassis Removal

Locate the Phillips head screws (#00) on the motherboard's front face.

  • The SIM card chassis is secured by these screws.
  • Set them apart from the back plate screws.
