Step 1 | Remove the Battery Cover

Locate the small indentation at the top of the device.

  • Use a plastic opening tool or your fingernails to pry the cover away from the mid-frame.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery

Identify the battery compartment's bottom left corner.

  • Lift the battery using your fingers or a plastic opening tool.

Step 3 | Remove the Mid-Frame

Breaking the reflective foil or damaging any internal components will void the warranty.

  • Remove five 3mm screws along top and bottom edges with a Philips #00 screwdriver.
  • The middle screw may be hidden under reflective foil; proceed with caution.
  • Use the plastic removal tool to carefully pry the mid-frame from the device.
  • Work slowly around edges, applying gentle pressure as needed.

Step 4 | Unplug LCD Screen from the Motherboard

Use the pointed end of the spudger carefully to disconnect the ribbon connections on the motherboard.

Step 5 | Remove the Motherboard

Insert the plastic opening tool between the motherboard and front plate.

  • Pry the motherboard and chassis away from the front plate.

Step 6 | Remove Damaged LCD Screen

Remove the LCD from the front plate using one side of a pair of tweezers.

  • Work in a clean environment to prevent damage and contamination.
  • Avoid touching the inside of the plastic screen cover or the face of the new LCD Screen, as they cannot be cleaned once reassembled.

Avoid touching sensitive components — oil from skin can cause damage.
