Step 1 | Remove the battery cover

Turn the phone off.

Ensure your hands are clean to prevent damage or injury.

Use either your thumbnail or a plastic spudger to carefully pry open the back cover.

Step 2 | Remove the battery

Lift the battery out of its receptacle using a plastic opening tool or your thumb nail.

Step 3 | Removing screws and stickers

Remove five 4 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Be sure to also remove the hidden sticker at the left bottom corner.

Step 4 | Removing the mid-frame.

Handle the plastic mounting clips with care, as they are prone to damage.

Pry into the bezel using a plastic opening tool to remove the mid-frame.
Continue to use the plastic opening tool to separate the mid-frame from the display assembly.

Take extra caution when working around the volume button.

Step 5

Separate the two frames.

The camera is now accessible.

Step 6

Perform this step carefully to avoid damaging the camera or surrounding components.

Use a pair of tweezers to carefully pull the camera off the system.
