Samsung Galaxy Express 3 Motherboard Replacement

Step 1 | Battery

Locate the indent area marked in red.

  • Use either your fingernail or a Prying Tool, such as a guitar pick, to separate the back from the body of the phone.

Never use a metal tool — risk of injury.

  • Lift the battery by its bottom indent using your fingernail or a Plastic Prying Tool.
  • The battery label should read "SAMSUNG".

Step 3 | Screen

Use a plastic prying tool, such as a spudger, to gently pry out the indicated component.

Disconnect the screen connector.

Failure to heat the screen may cause damage.

  • Apply a blow dryer or heating pad to loosen the screen's adhesive.
  • This step is crucial: it prevents screen breakage.

Careful handling required — screens may crack easily.

  • Use a plastic prying tool (such as a spudger) to carefully lift out the glass digitizer and LCD screen around the edges.
  • Plywood or guitar pick alternative also suitable, but ensure it is plastic for damage prevention.

Step 7 | Motherboard

Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the nine screws.

Never use a metal tool to avoid damage to the motherboard.

  • Remove the top and bottom screen trim pieces using a plastic spudger.
  • Beware of the top piece, which is wedged tightly in place and can be easily broken.

Remove the black screw situated below the bottom plastic piece.

  • Ensure you identify and set aside this unique screw.

Step 10

Remove the motherboard by gently lifting it with a spudger.

  • Verify that all screws are removed before attempting to lift.
  • If still stuck, check for any remaining screws and re-remove them as necessary.
