Samsung Galaxy Centura Lock and Volume Buttons Replacement

Removing and replacing the volume and lock buttons on a Samsung Galaxy Centura requires careful disassembly of the device.

Step 1 | Battery

  • Find the rectangular notch on the top edge of the device.
  • Pry it open by pressing a plastic opening tool into the notch and pulling back strongly.

  • Verify the battery is exposed.
  • Pull the battery upward using your thumb and index finger.

Step 3 | Lock and Volume Buttons

Locate and count the seven screws on the back of the device.

  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws.
  • The screws have a 5.0mm diameter.

Locate the indentation on the side of the device.

  • Gently insert the plastic opening tool into the indentation.
  • Use a firm prying motion to separate the plastic components.

Identify the volume buttons situated on the plastic casing.

  • Pull the black tab upwards with the tweezers, releasing any adhesive.
  • Gently maneuver the button inwards and out of its housing within the plastic casing.

Locate the lock button on the opposite side of the plastic casing.

  • Use tweezers to pull the two horizontal tabs up and out of the plastic pegs.
  • Apply firm pressure to push the lock button inward and out of its housing.
