Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G Front Camera Replacement

Step 1 | Placement

Flip the device over to its rear with the display side facing downwards.

Step 2 | Battery Door Removal

Locate the battery door removal notch at the top of the device.

  • Pry off the battery door using a pry tool or your fingernail.

Step 3 | Battery Removal

Place the battery door aside.

  • Pry the battery upwards using a pry tool or your fingernail.
  • The battery should now be removed.

Step 4 | Heads Up!

Ensure the battery's orientation arrow points downwards.

Step 5 | Screw Removal

Remove six Phillips head screws from the rear housing.

Step 6 | Prying

  • Use a spudger or plastic pry tool to gently pry the clips loose.
  • Pry slowly around the edges of the phone between the display and rear housing.

Step 7 | Remove Housing

Lift rear housing away from display assembly.

Step 8 | Logic Board

Disconnect the headphone jack flex cable with a spudger/plastic pry tool.

Step 9

Disconnect the rear speaker flex cable with your spudger/plastic pry tool.

Step 10

Use a spudger to gently pry the vibration motor loose from its housing.

Be cautious of a mild adhesive on the underside of the motor.

Do not attempt to completely remove the logic board.

  • Remove both flex cables from their connectors.
  • Carefully slide the logic board towards the left edge of the screen assembly.

Step 12

Disconnect the LCD/Digitizer flex cable using a spudger/plastic pry tool.

Remove the logic board from the display assembly.

Step 14 | Front Camera

Step 14 image

Avoid prying at the black component — risk of damaging the connector.

  • Lift the brown ZIF tab using a spudger/plastic pry tool.

Step 15

Step 15 image

Pull the camera module carefully out of its socket.

  • Set it aside for later reassembly.
