Samsung Galaxy Amp 2 Motherboard Replacement

Careful handling is required to avoid further damaging the phone when removing a faulty motherboard.

  • Remove the faulty motherboard from the phone.
  • This may be necessary due to water damage or functionality issues.
  • Replace with a new, functional motherboard as required.

Step 1 | Battery

Prying may cause damage — use caution.

  • Locate the divot on the phone's side, to the left of the rear-facing camera.
  • Insert a finger or an opening tool into the divot and gently pry upwards.
  • Lift off the rear panel.

Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the gap at the bottom right corner of the battery.

  • Lift the battery upward to release its retaining clips.
  • Safely remove the battery from your phone by gripping it firmly.

Step 3 | Screen

Use angled tweezers to lift the small rectangular guard in the upper-right corner.

  • Locate and release the connector piece.
  • Disconnect it from the back panel.

Use a heat gun or blow dryer to apply gentle heat to the screen's edge for 1-2 minutes.

Use four plastic opening tools to carefully pry off the screen.

  • Alternatively, use a suction tool to gently pull the screen away from its housing.

Step 6 | Motherboard

Remove the nine 4.5mm PH screws with a screwdriver and PH000 bit.

  • Push from the back panel to release the bottom part of the motherboard.

  • Push from the front panel to release the top part of the motherboard.
