Samsung Galaxy Amp 2 Home Button Replacement
Replacing the home button may be necessary if it's damaged or unresponsive.
- Remove the screen using angled tweezers and a heat gun or blow dryer — this step can be tricky.
- Apply a PH000 screwdriver to remove screws from the motherboard, which holds the home button in place.
- Purchase four plastic opening tools for further disassembly.
Step 1 | Battery
Locate the divot next to the rear-facing camera on the side of the phone.
- Insert a fingernail or an opening tool into the divot and gently pry upwards.
- Lift the rear panel away from the phone.
Step 2
Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the gap in the bottom right corner of the battery.
- Lift upward on the tool to release the battery.
- Grip the battery and safely remove it from the phone.
Step 3 | Screen
Lift the small rectangular guard at the upper right corner of the phone using angled tweezers.
- Next, disconnect the connector piece from the back panel.
Step 4
Apply heat from a heat gun or blow dryer around the screen's edge for 1-2 minutes.
Step 5
Use four plastic opening tools to gently pry off the screen.
- Alternatively, use a suction tool to pull the screen off.
Step 6 | Motherboard
- Remove the 9 PH screws (4.5mm) using a screwdriver with a PH000 bit.
Push gently from both sides to avoid damage.
- Push the back panel to release the bottom part of the motherboard.
- Push the front panel to release the top part of the motherboard.
Step 7 | Home Button
Locate and pull the black tab situated at the bottom of the motherboard.
- Release the home button by pushing it out from the black tab.
