Samsung Galaxy Alpha Motherboard Replacement
The motherboard is prone to damage, so be cautious when handling it.

- This repair can resolve issues with the phone not turning on or running at low speeds.
Step 1 | Motherboard
Locate the side slot on the back of the phone, situated to the left of the camera when viewed upright.
- Insert a iFixit opening pick or similar tool into the gap, sliding it in to separate the back panel and phone body vertically.
- If no tool is available, create this separation by hand using a finger or other blunt object.
Step 2
Turn off the phone.
- iFixit opening pick or your hand.
Step 3
Remove the 12 x 3.0 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- Set aside the removed screws.
Step 4
Flip the phone over so the screen faces up.
- Use the flat blade on a halberd spudger to pry between the front screen and phone body.
- Lift the screen upwards and outwards to remove it.
Step 5
Flip the phone with the back case facing up.
- Insert the hook of the halberd spudger into gaps on the side of the battery housing.
- Pry upward until there is separation between the back case and main phone body.
- Use fingers or a prying tool to completely separate and remove the back case.
Step 6
- Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove three 3.0 mm screws.
- Set these screws aside for later reinstallation.
Step 7
Check for pin connector tabs on the back of the phone.
- Use a spudger to separate them from the main body.
- Lift the motherboard off using the same spudger.
Step 8
Lift up the motherboard with your hands or a spudger.
