  • NFC antenna replacement requires a new one including the battery replacement.
  • Locate the slot at the base of the old battery and insert your thumb.
  • Pull the battery out, pushing slightly toward you to dislodge it.

Step 3 | Display Assembly

Locate the slot adjacent to the flashlight.

  • Insert a prying tool or your fingernail into the slot.
  • Lift around the perimeter, being gentle but firm, to remove the back panel.

This step is crucial for accessing other internal components, but can be skipped if you're only replacing the screen.

  • Use a JIS #000 screwdriver to remove all twelve 3mm screws surrounding the back of the phone.

Step 6 | Use iOpener To Heat Adhesive

Step 6 image

Heat the iOpener in a microwave for 30 seconds.

  • Apply the iOpener to the front screen and move it so that all areas are heated evenly.
  • Perform multiple heating cycles before proceeding. Additional heat cycles can make removal easier.

Ensure the screen is thoroughly heated before moving forward to avoid damage or complications.

Failure to heat the adhesive thoroughly may cause it to break and make repair more difficult.

  • Use a heat source to thoroughly warm the adhesive before attempting to pry off the screen.
  • Do not press on the phone's back while lifting the screen, as this will crack the glass.

  • The connections at the bottom of the touch screen are fragile and can be easily damaged. When removing the adhesive from this area, work carefully to prevent damage.
  • Slide an opening pick around the perimeter of the glass, taking care not to push it too far under the screen.
