Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) Display Replacement

Step 1 | Display

Press and hold the power button to turn off your device.

  • This is a necessary step before changing the screen.

Insert the SIM Card Ejection tool into the small hole.

  • Push gently to release the SIM Card tray.
  • The tray will eject, allowing access to the SIM card slot.

Risk of damage to fragile rear glass — avoid overheating.

  • Heat the back of the device with a hairdryer to loosen adhesive.
  • Insert a plastic card or opening pick between glass and frame to create an opening.
  • Carefully separate rear glass from rest of the device.

  • Use tweezers to disengage the camera from the motherboard.
  • Lift the back panel away from the device's chassis.

Remove the P2 Pentalobe screwdriver and take out the 14 (0.8mm) screws.

  • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the remaining four (1.5mm) screws.
  • Leverage gently with the spudger under the top antenna to lift it.
  • Continue lifting and extracting the NFC antenna using the spudger.

  • Disconnect the battery using a spudger.
  • Lift the speaker gently and remove it from its slot.
  • Unplug the display cables from the device.

Never apply excessive heat to the center of the display panel — risk of damage.

  • Use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive for a few seconds, targeting the front panel.
  • Insert an opening pick gently between the screen and chassis to create an opening.
  • Gently slide the plastic card around the screen to separate it from the chassis.
