Samsung Galaxy A72 Screen with Frame Replacement

The Samsung Galaxy A72 screen and frame assembly requires transferring internal components to the new parts.

Step 1 | Back cover removal

Apply moderate heat to soften the adhesive without overheating the battery or components.

  • Use plastic tools, such as a spudger, pick, or playing card, to separate the back cover.
  • If necessary, use a suction cup and isopropyl alcohol (not rubbing alcohol) to aid adhesive softening.

Remove the SIM Tray.

  • Remove ten silver Phillips screws securing the plastic motherboard cover.
  • Pry off the cover and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery by prying gently.

  • Unplug the main flex cable.
  • Pry gently upward to disconnect the coaxial antenna cables connectors.

Note that there are two screws (the black Philips screw and one other) that are shorter than most others. Be sure to keep track of them during disassembly and reassembly to avoid damage.

  • Remove the black Philips screw securing the motherboard to the display frame, setting it aside.
  • Use a plastic tool to pry up and remove the Motherboard.

Remove silver Phillips screws.

  • Pry up plastic cover using a plastic tool.
  • Set aside plastic cover.

Be cautious with the fingerprint sensor's flex cable as it can be easily damaged.

  • Pry up the connector and disconnect the fingerprint sensor.
  • Unplug the Main flex cable.
  • Remove the black screw securing the Charging board. Note: This is a unique screw.
  • Gently pry up the Charging board using a plastic tool, then lift and set it aside (refer to photos two and three).

Careful not to damage components or cables.

  • Remove the vibrator motor using a prying tool.
  • Take out the Fingerprint sensor.

Apply heat carefully to avoid over-heating the battery and use a broad plastic pry tool to lift it slowly, working on one side at a time.

  • Remove all components from the old frame.
  • Install them in the new frame in reverse order.

Before assembling, test the display by entering #0# on the keypad and check for unresponsive areas and dead pixels.
