Discharge battery below 25% before disassembly to avoid fire risk and damage during repair.
Replace adhesive seals when reassembling to maintain water protection.
You'll need replacement adhesive for component reattachment during reassembly.
Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.
Do not use excessive heat, as the display and internal battery may be damaged.
Attach a suction handle to the back cover's bottom edge, as close as possible.
If the back cover is cracked, strong tape or superglue may be needed for secure adhesion.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Leave all opening picks in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
Reheat the iOpener for one to two minutes if the adhesive becomes hard to cut.
Insert the opening pick under the top left corner.
Insert the fifth opening pick under the top right corner.
Remove the back cover.
Ensure proper adhesion by applying strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the back cover.
Remove the motherboard cover by taking out the ten 4.5 mm-long Phillips head screws.
Position the spudger's pointed end under the right edge of the motherboard cover.
Remove the motherboard cover.
Disconnect the battery cable by prying the connector straight up using a spudger.
Use a spudger to pry the interconnect connector straight up out of its socket.
Remove the seven 4.5 mm Phillips screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

Disconnect and remove the loudspeaker assembly.
Use a spudger to pry the interconnect cable connectors straight up from their sockets.
Remove the interconnect cable with a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
Apply a heated iOpener to the screen for at least five minutes to loosen the adhesive.
Do not apply direct heat to the battery as this poses a safety hazard.
Insert the opening pick into the wider gap between the midframe and the battery for better leverage.
Be careful not to puncture or bend the battery – risk of chemical leak or thermal event.
Apply isopropyl alcohol if struggling to remove the battery.
Peel the old battery off the remaining adhesive.
Do not reinstall a damaged or deformed battery — potential safety hazard.
Secure the new battery with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape. Apply the adhesive to the device at the old adhesive locations, not directly on the battery.
