Galaxy A71 FPC Repair

If the device does not charge, inspect the Motherboard FPC connector

Step 1 | Connect the charger

Check if the charger is properly connected to both the phone and a power source.

  • Verify that the battery contacts on the phone are clean and free of debris.
  • Closely examine the charger port for any signs of damage or blockage, then try cleaning it with a soft brush if necessary.
  • If the issue persists, restart your phone in safe mode to see if the charging problem is related to an app or software glitch:
    • Press and hold the power button until your device turns on.
    • Release the power button when you see a list of options on the screen.
    • Select the option for Safe Mode by pressing the volume down key while holding the power button.

Step 2 | Back cover removal

Warm the device for a few minutes to loosen the adhesive.

  • Separate the back cover using a plastic spudger and isopropyl alcohol.

Step 3 | Middle frame removal / SIM Tray removal

Remove all silver Phillips screws.

  • Extract the SIM Tray
  • Utilize a suitable plastic tool, such as an opening pick or spudger, to remove the middle frame.

Step 4

Disconnect the battery.

  • Connect the charger and measure the voltage at the two end pins.
  • The measured voltage should be approximately 5V.

If the voltage is not within specification, search for the problem at either the charging board or the main flex cable.

Remove the black tape surrounding the connector.

  • Resolder the first FPC connector pin using a soldering iron, flux, and tin wire.
  • If the connector is damaged, it's recommended to replace it.
