Samsung Galaxy A70 Back Cover Replacement

To avoid damaging the phone's components, purchase replacement adhesive.

  • Follow this guide to replace a cracked back cover.
  • Maintain original component alignment during reassembly.

Step 1 | Soften the adhesive

Risk of overheating damage to the display and battery.

  • Power off your Galaxy A70.
  • Use an iOpener to soften the adhesive under the back cover for at least two minutes, repeating as needed.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution to avoid overheating.

Step 2 | Create a gap

  • Attach a suction cup to the phone's back near its right edge.
  • Pull the suction cup away from you to create space between the cover and frame.
  • Insert an opening pick into the opening created by the suction cup.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

  • Slide the opening pick along the edge to the bottom right corner.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent adhesive resealing.
  • You may now remove or continue using the suction cup for better control during removal.

Insert a second opening pick underneath the bottom right corner of the back cover.

  • Slide the opening pick along the edge to the top right corner.
  • (Optional) If cutting is difficult, reapply heat with the iOpener.
  • Leave both picks in place to prevent adhesive from resealing.

Insert a third opening pick under the top right corner of the back cover.

  • Slide the tip along the top edge to cut the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing.

Insert a fourth opening pick under the top left corner.

  • Slide it along the left edge to break the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in its place to keep the adhesive from resealing.

Step 7

Insert the fifth opening pick at the bottom left corner.

  • Work your way along the bottom edge, using gentle pressure to separate the adhesive.

Step 8 | Remove the back cover

Remove the back cover.

Allow 2-3 minutes for the adhesive to form a secure bond, applying gentle pressure. Alternatively, place the phone under a stack of heavy objects.
