Step 1 | Remove SIM tray

Turn off the device.

  • Remove the SIM tray.

Careful: the back cover is fragile glass.

  • Apply a heat gun to the device's rear to soften the adhesive securing the back cover.
  • Use a suction cup to lift the back cover from the frame and insert a tool (pick or plastic) for separation.
  • Pry around the entire cover to separate it from the frame.
  • If adhesive remains stubborn, reapply heat for additional loosening.

Step 3 | Remove mid-frame

Remove 7 screws on upper half of frame.

  • Remove 8 screws on lower half of frame.
  • Pull frame away from screen to remove it, held in place by clips.
  • If screen does not come loose, use a plastic pick or spudger to release the frame.

Step 4 | Disconnect battery

Disconnect the battery.

  • Remove the black plastic cover from the daughter board.
  • (Optional) On the left side, either carefully pry loose and remove the small adjacent board or disconnect its cable.

Step 5 | Mainboard removal

Disconnect the two cables: the left one for the Display and the right connecting the mainboard and daughter board.

  • Remove the mainboard screw.
  • The camera can remain connected to the mainboard; it is removable as a single unit.
  • Disconnect the right cable from the daughter board below.

Step 6 | Display removal

Use a heat gun to heat up the front of the display.

  • Insert a thin tool between the glass and the frame to create a small gap.
  • Work around the edge of the glass using a plastic tool to separate the display from the frame.

The LCD is also glued, making it difficult to remove without breaking; for this guide, replacement was conducted.

  • Remove any excess adhesive from the frame once the screen has been removed.
  • Insert the display cable through the hole and connect it to the mainboard.
  • Test the connection before gluing the display to the frame.

To reassemble, follow these steps in reverse order.
