Samsung Galaxy A54 5G Battery Replacement

Discharge the battery below 25% before disassembly to prevent fire risk if accidentally damaged.

  • Check the troubleshooting pages to confirm your Samsung Galaxy A54 5G needs a new battery.

Replace the battery with a new one, as worn-out or dead batteries can pose risks.

If your old battery is swollen, take precautions and follow proper reassembly procedures to avoid damage.

When reassembling, apply replacement adhesive to secure components and maintain water protection.

Step 1 | Back Glass

Step 1 image

Power off your phone completely and remove the SIM card holder before disassembling.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes per side to loosen adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be cautious not to overheat the phone as display and internal battery can be damaged by excessive heat.

Secure a suction handle to the back cover's edge, as close as possible.

  • If the back cover is cracked, try using strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle in place and allow it to cure.
  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the cover and frame.

It may take several attempts. Apply more heat if necessary, but follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick along the phone's side to slice the adhesive and leave it in place to prevent resealing.

Beware of puncturing or bending the battery — risk of chemical leakage or thermal event.

  • Insert an opening pick into the wider gap between midframe and battery, securing leverage.
  • Attach a suction handle to the battery as close to the edge as possible.
  • Insert an opening pick along the battery frame's edge to assist in removal.

Apply more isopropyl alcohol if struggling with battery removal, then try again.

  • Pull up on the suction handle while tilting the opening pick downwards to pry up the battery.
  • Use a heavy-duty suction cup instead of your original suction handle if necessary for removal assistance.

Peel the battery off the remaining adhesive.

  • Remove the battery from the device.

Never reinstall a damaged or deformed battery, as it poses a potential safety hazard.

Apply new pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape to secure the replacement battery in place.

  • Position the new adhesive into the device at the locations where the old adhesive was situated.
  • Avoid applying adhesive directly onto the battery.

Press the new battery firmly into position for a secure fit.
