Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Daughterboard Replacement

Discharge battery below 25% before repair to prevent fire risk and follow swelling precautions if necessary.

  • Ensure you have replacement adhesive for reassembly.
  • Replacing adhesive seals is crucial for maintaining water protection (though device function will not be impaired).

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes.

  • The adhesive underneath should start to loosen.

Be careful not to overheat the phone, as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage when using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the back cover.

  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and the frame.
  • If necessary, apply more heat using an iOpener to soften the adhesive further.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Step 3 image

Avoid damage by only using a iOpener when necessary.

  • If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, use your iOpener for 1-2 minutes to reheat it.
  • Insert an additional opening pick at the bottom right corner of your phone.
  • Slide this new opening pick along the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave one in the bottom left corner to prevent resealing.

Step 8 | Remove the back cover

Step 8 image

Remove the back cover.

  • Clean relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90% concentration) before applying new adhesive.
  • Apply new adhesive where needed to secure the new back cover, using either pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.
  • Apply steady, strong pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the back cover to ensure proper bond.

  • A stack of heavy books can be used to provide sufficient pressure.
