Discharge battery below 25% before disassembly to avoid fire risk.
When reassembling:
Excessive heat can cause permanent damage to the display and battery.
Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.
Insert an opening pick into the gap you created.
Slide the opening pick to the top right corner to cut the adhesive.
Do not remove the pick until the repair is complete — risk of adhesive resealing.
Insert a second opening pick at the top right edge of your phone.
Reheat hardened adhesive with iOpener for 1-2 minutes.
Insert opening pick at bottom left corner.
Remove the back cover.
Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes to help the adhesive bond properly. A stack of heavy books can be used for this purpose.
Remove the motherboard cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the flat end of a plastic spudger into the gap between the frame and the motherboard cover on the right edge.
Remove the motherboard cover.
Disconnect the battery connector using a spudger, prying it straight up from its socket.
Remove the loudspeaker assembly using a Phillips screwdriver.
Locate the gap between the loudspeaker assembly and the midframe.
Disconnect the interconnect cable from the motherboard using a spudger. Prying the connector straight up from its socket will release it.
Disconnect the interconnect cable.
Never apply direct heat to the battery — significant safety risk.
Risk of chemical leak or fire if the battery is punctured or bent.
If using isopropyl alcohol, let it penetrate for at least two minutes before removal.
For extremely stubborn adhesives on Samsung Galaxy A53 5G, apply a few drops of high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol to the gaps between the battery and midframe.
Reconnect the battery to the motherboard temporarily during reassembly to aid alignment. Disconnect immediately once seated.
