Samsung Galaxy A52 Screen Replacement

Discharging the battery below 25% before disassembly prevents accidental puncture and subsequent fire or explosion risks.

  • Check that you have the correct replacement screen part, as some screens come pre-installed in a new frame (chassis).
  • Remove all components from the old screen to avoid damaging them during reinstallation.

Note: Replacing only the screen leaves original frame and motherboard intact. Be sure to apply replacement adhesive when reassembling for optimal water protection.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Be cautious when applying heat to avoid damaging the phone's display and internal battery.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but keep the temperature moderate to prevent overheating.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Step 2 image

Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.

If the back cover is damaged, the suction handle may not stick — try lifting it with strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.

  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and the frame.
  • In case you have trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive. Follow the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
  • Insert an opening pick into the gap you created.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Step 3 image

Insert the opening pick into the top right corner and slide it to slice the adhesive.

  • Leave the opening pick in place to maintain access.
  • Prevent resealing of the adhesive by not removing the pick.

Step 4

  • Place a second opening pick under the top right edge of your phone.
  • Slide the pick down to the bottom right corner, slicing the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in place to prevent re-adhesion.

Step 5

If adhesive hardens, reheat with iOpener.

  • Insert a third opening pick at the phone's bottom edge.
  • Slide the opening pick along the phone's bottom edge to cut adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the bottom left corner to prevent resealing.

Step 8 | Remove the back cover

Step 8 image

Apply isopropyl alcohol (>90%) to clean relevant areas before reassembling.

  • Remove the back cover.
  • Apply new adhesive where necessary and secure with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.
  • Press phone firmly for several minutes, using a stack of heavy books if needed.

Step 9 | Unscrew the motherboard cover

Step 9 image

Remove the motherboard cover using a Phillips screwdriver.

  • There are ten screws, each 4.4 mm long.
  • Loosen and remove all screws in one operation.

Step 10 | Pry up the motherboard cover

Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the right connector of the interconnect cable from the motherboard.

Bend the cable carefully to the top of the phone, avoiding damage or strain on the cable and surrounding components.

Position the cable at an angle to access the screen connector socket.

Step 13 | Pry up the screen connector

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap between the midframe and the screen.
  • Slide the opening pick to the top right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in its place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
