Samsung Galaxy A52 Battery Replacement

Discharge battery below 25% before disassembly to avoid thermal risk.

  • Take precautions if battery is swollen.
  • Replace adhesive seals when reassembling for optimal water protection.

Use this guide to replace a worn-out or dead Galaxy A52 battery. You'll need replacement adhesive for reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener by applying it to the back cover for at least two minutes to loosen adhesive.

  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.
  • Avoid overheating; the display and internal battery are vulnerable to heat damage.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.

If the back cover is damaged, the suction handle may not stick. Try lifting it with strong tape or superglueing in place and allowing it to cure.

  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and the frame.
  • Apply more heat if necessary, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Always handle broken glass with care — risk of cuts.

  • Remove the back cover.
  • Clean the areas around the seal with isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher).
  • Apply new adhesive as needed to secure the back cover in place.
  • Press your phone firmly for several minutes after installing the back cover, using a stack of heavy books if necessary.

Avoid sharp bends that can damage the interconnect flex cable.

  • Bend the interconnect flex cable towards the charging port for access.
  • Use a small piece of tape to secure the cable temporarily, if needed.

Step 14 | Apply adhesive remover

Step 14 image

Apply a few drops of adhesive remover or high-concentration (90% or higher) isopropyl alcohol into the gap at the left edge of the battery.

  • Tilt the phone to a 45-degree angle to allow the isopropyl alcohol to spread evenly underneath the battery.
  • Allow the adhesive remover to penetrate the battery adhesive for at least 1 minute.

Step 15 | Pry up the battery

Insert a plastic card into the wider gap between the midframe and battery for more space.

  • Slide it underneath the battery to loosen the adhesive.
  • Pry up the battery from its recess using the plastic card.

If the battery is still sticky, repeat the previous adhesive remover procedure or use an iOpener to soften the adhesive before proceeding.

Step 16 | Remove the battery

Step 16 image

Never reinstall a damaged or deformed battery due to potential safety hazards.

  • Preparation: Remove any remaining adhesive from the old battery's glue areas using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
  • For pre-cut adhesive card installation, follow this guide during reassembly.
  • If there's leftover alcohol solution on the phone, carefully wipe it off or let it air dry before installing the new battery.
  • Reconnect the battery to the motherboard temporarily for proper alignment; then, disconnect once seated.

Ensure all alcohol solution is removed from the phone before reassembling and installing the new battery.
