Samsung Galaxy A52 Back Cover Replacement

Replace a damaged back cover on your Samsung Galaxy A52 with this guide.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Overheating the phone can cause damage to the display and internal battery.

  • Prepare an iOpener or use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to loosen the adhesive underneath the back cover.
  • Apply heat for at least two minutes before proceeding.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the back cover.

  • If the back cover is damaged, apply strong tape or superglue to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and frame.

Apply more heat if necessary, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Move the opening pick to the top right corner and carefully slice the adhesive.

  • Leave the opening pick in position to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.

Insert opening pick under top right edge.

  • Slide pick down to bottom right corner, slicing adhesive.
  • Leave pick in place to hold open adhesive.

Adhesive has cooled down; reheat with iOpener if hard to cut.

  • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom edge of your phone.
  • Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the bottom left corner to prevent resealing.

Insert a fourth opening pick under the bottom left corner.

  • Slide it along the left edge to cut the adhesive.
  • Leave it in place at the top left corner to prevent resealing.

Step 7

Insert an additional opening pick under the top left corner.

  • Guide the pick along the top edge, slicing through the remaining adhesive.

Step 8 | Remove the back cover

  • Remove the back cover.
  • Clean areas requiring new adhesive with isopropyl alcohol (>90%). Apply fresh adhesive where needed.
  • Secure the new back cover with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installation. A stack of heavy books can provide sufficient weight.
